What we develop.

Three service areas – one consistent development approach.

HV battery systems

Customized high-voltage batteries for automotive and off-highway applications. From system architecture, cell selection and thermal management to series release in accordance with OEM standards. Developed according to SPICE processes, validated according to OEM requirements.

LV battery systems

48V systems and low-voltage solutions for mild hybrid applications and vehicle electrical systems. Compact design, high integration, series production. Development depth from cell selection to quality-assured series production.

ePowertrain systems

Complete electric drivetrain solutions – battery, power electronics and thermal management as an integrated system. Developed and industrialized from a single source. For applications where individual components are not enough.

System architecture & requirements management

Clarify technical requirements, define system architecture, specify interfaces. Installation space, performance requirements and application profile as a starting point. Our requirements management ensures the perfect integration of system architecture and all components.

Engineering & Simulation

Mechanical, electrical and thermal design. Extensive CFD and FEM simulations for validation. Design for manufacturing right from the start – we solve challenges as a team at an early stage before they cost the schedule.

Validation & Testing

Testing on our own battery test bench up to 1.1 MW / 1,200 V / -40 to 90 °C. Validation and verification in accordance with OEM requirements and TISAX-certified processes. What we develop, we test ourselves – completely.

Industrialization & series production

Series-capable production line, in-process quality inspection, scalable production. From small series to large series – the same process, the same quality. Ensuring series production capability does not start at the end of development, but at the beginning.

REFERENCE - ABT E-LINE

From the system architecture to the homologation-ready solution.

ABT e-Line needed a customized high-voltage system for the electrification of a commercial vehicle – with specific packaging requirements and a clear schedule. Handtmann Systemtechnik defined the system architecture, designed the thermal management and accompanied the entire development through to series production.

It took ten weeks from the final CAD model to the vehicle ready for homologation.
