Engineering according to OEM standards

Concept and series development for drive systems.

From concept to series production.

The requirements in the mobility industry are becoming more complex. We support OEMs from the automotive industry from the initial idea through to series production. Developing system architectures, securing validations, preparing the handover to series production: That is our job, and we take responsibility for the entire process.

Engineering depth does not come from promises, but from methodology. We work according to OEM standards, think in terms of end-to-end process chains and deliver development results that work industrially.

Three service areas. One consistent approach.

System solutions for conventional drives

Drive systems for conventional and hybrid drivetrains – according to OEM standards, right up to series release.

System solutions for electric drives

Electric drive systems from architecture to series production. ePowertrain, thermal management, interfaces in the overall vehicle.

System integration & co-engineering

Mechanical, electrical and thermal systems are combined to form a functioning overall system – with responsibility for all interfaces.

How we manage projects.

Our development process follows a clear logic: from pre-development through conception and validation to handover to industrialization. At each transition point, we work with the OEM to determine what is needed for the next step.

Our project management is not an accessory, but a clear competitive advantage. We have many years of experience, know the relevant suppliers and partners and implement projects faster and more reliably than the market standard.

Five phases to series maturity

Phase 4

Industrialization & Design for Manufacturing

Phase 5

Series production & safeguarding

Conventional drives - Thermal management - Charging

System expertise for conventional drives.

We develop drive systems for conventional and hybrid powertrains, from turbocharging, exhaust gas routing and charge air routing to thermal management. What we deliver is validated to OEM standards and designed for subsequent series production.

Electric drives - ePowertrain - Thermal management

System expertise for electric drives.

We develop electric drive systems from system architecture to series production: ePowertrain integration, thermal management of electric drives, interface clarification in the overall vehicle. Our developments are designed to meet the requirements of the automotive industry.

System integration - co-engineering - overall system

Integration is more than just assembly.

We see system integration as an engineering task. We bring mechanics, electrics and thermals together to create an overall system that is technically convincing and functions industrially. With Design for Manufacturing, we think in terms of series production right from the start, not just at the end of development.

For which applications we develop.

We develop for the automotive industry, sector-specific and system-deep.

REFERENCE - ABT E-LINE

From the first sketch to the current series.

ABT e-Line needed a partner who would not only develop, but also take responsibility for the project. We built the system architecture, supported the validation and prepared the transition to series production. The result is a vehicle that is on the road today and a development partnership that has demonstrated what end-to-end expertise means.

Frequently asked questions about concept and series development.
What OEMs want to know before starting a project - brief and specific.

Ideally as early as possible – in the pre-development or concept phase. The earlier Design for Manufacturing is considered, the fewer adjustment loops at the end. Starting later is possible, but usually more expensive.

We work according to the common automotive processes - APQP, VDA 6.3, IATF 16949, SPICE. Validation, documentation and approvals follow the standard expected by the automotive industry. Also for off-highway.

Phases 4 and 5 of our process are already industrialization. If you purchase development and series production from us, there is no break between the phases, but a seamless transition within the same company.

Yes, we take on individual phases, modules or subsystems - for example, only conception or only validation. However, the greatest leverage lies in the end-to-end mandate, as this eliminates interface losses.

The path continues.

Concept and series development is the starting point. What is created here is seamlessly transferred to industrialization, or directly to the battery systems if the project requires it.

Industrialization and series production

The developed solution goes into scalable series production. The same partner, the same process chain.
